Ryan Zehl is a trial lawyer who has never lost a jury trial. His practice is focused primarily on personal injury, maritime, and pharmaceutical litigation. In 2011, Ryan was selected as a "Texas Rising Star" by Super Lawyers, a recognition limited to the top 2.5 percent of lawyers in the State of Texas.
In the past 18 months, he has tried—and won—8 personal injury cases to verdict in counties across the state of Texas, including Harris County, Dallas County, Polk County, Montgomery County, and Fort Bend County.
Ryan's most recent victory was on December 15, 2011, against Greyhound Bus Companyin Dallas, Texas. After a three week trial, the jury awarded $7.2 million, including $4.8 million in punitive damages, to our client, who injured her lower back when a Greyhound bus lost control on an icy road in December 2007.
The verdict, which was the largest verdict ever awarded against Greyhound, was covered by the Houston Business Journal and media outlets all over the country.
Background:
After graduating number 11 in his law school class of over 300, Ryan worked as a briefing attorney for Justice Scott Brister of the Texas Supreme Court. When his term with the Court expired, Ryan relocated to Dallas to join Gardere Wynne Sewell, one of the nation's most prominent firms. While there, Ryan quickly distinguished himself as an aggressive trial lawyer in complex commercial, personal injury, and appellate cases.
Ryan has been interviewed on CNN's American Morning, Fox & Friends, and Good Morning America and appeared in almost every major newspaper in the world, including the New York Times, Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, Washington Post, Bloomberg. the Wallstreet Journal, and International Herald Tribune, among others.
